Following a request from the Texas Education Agency to gauge sentiment from local stakeholders, Longview Independent School District is asking our parents and staff to share their feelings about whether they want students learning in the classroom or from home for the 2020-21 school year.

  • If you are a parent of a Longview ISD student, please click here to take the survey (click aquí para Español).
  • If you are a current Longview ISD teacher, please click here to take the survey (click aquí para Español).

While the international response to COVID-19 continues to evolve, Longview ISD wants to ensure that we consider the perspectives of our families, students and staff as we prepare to make decisions regarding how we will facilitate learning in a way that is viable, safe and best supports our families.

The district is currently working to anticipate and prepare for the needs of our students and staff when the school year begins. We are currently developing a number of plans to cover everything from curriculum and instruction to facilities and operations, but most important is the health and safety of our students/employees.

We deeply value and consider the feedback of all segments of our school community, the data collected in this survey will be considered in conjunction with guidance from governmental authorities.

District administration will continue to monitor the ongoing situation and follow guidance from federal, state, and local officials. Thus, any decisions made by LISD leadership is subject to change, and we will keep you informed through our district website, social media, and through all-calls/emails.

To keep track of the latest developments within the district, please check our LISD Coronavirus information portal at LISD.org/COVID.
