The ChooseLISD Round 1 application window is now open for Choice and Out of District Transfer students.
NOTE: No application is required for students attending their zoned campus.
Longview ISD is a School of Choice district that provides access to high-quality, best-fit school options for all students, by providing a fair and equitable enrollment system that allows families to “Choose” which school meets their child/family’s needs.
• Zoned students are those students who live within the LISD attendance boundaries and attend their zoned campus.
• Choice students are those students who live within the LISD attendance boundaries and choose to attend a campus other than their zoned campus.
• Out-of-District Transfer students are those students who do not live within the LISD attendance boundaries, but have been approved by LISD Admin to attend an LISD campus. (State law requires that all Out-of-District transfer students must reapply for the next school year.)
Enrollment Timeline
Choose LISD Applications for Round 1
• Opens in March and closes in April
• All Choice and Out-of-District Transfer students may apply.
• Current Hudson PEP students and those applying to attend Hudson PEP should not apply in Round 1.
Choose LISD Applications for Round 2
• Opens in May and closes in June
• All Choice students and Out-of-District Transfer Students may apply.
• All Returning Hudson PEP students, and all NEW Hudson Pep students who have received a letter from Longview ISD stating that they qualify to apply should apply in Round 2.
Skyward Registration
• Opens July 24
• Registration is required for all students (Zoned, Choice, and Out-of-District Transfers)
Existing LISD Students with Accounts in Choose LISD
Families with existing accounts will log onto the portal using the username and password they created last year. (You will need your Skyward ID number.) Families should click on the “Update the Family Profile'' tab and make any necessary changes before adding any new Choice or Out-of-District students and before taking action for current Choice or Out-of-District students.
New LISD Students and Families without Accounts in Choose LISD
Families new to LISD will need to create an account in the application portal and then follow the instructions on the screen to complete an application for each Choice or Out-of-District student that will be enrolling.

After Choice and Out-of-District Transfer applications have been approved, families will receive a notification to review the approval status and next steps by logging onto their Choose LISD account.

Out-of-District (OOD) Transfers
State law requires that all OOD transfers must reapply each year to renew the transfer for the upcoming school year. Please follow the instructions above to apply to return to LISD for the current school year.
ChooseLISD Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Create an account and log in.

Step 2: Tell us about your family by filling out your Family Profile.
Step 3: Add your students to your account.
Current LISD families will need their child’s ID number.
Families new to LISD will provide additional information about their students.
Step 4: For each of your students, take an action.
Submit an application for the upcoming school year.
Indicate your child’s intent to return to their current school or apply to other school choices.
You will receive confirmation via email, in addition to any next steps you need to take to complete the registration process in Skyward.

Who needs to submit an application?
