Elevate 2030: Our Strategic Plan for the Future
Longview ISD is building a bold new Strategic Plan—designed to guide our work through the year 2030. This plan is grounded in the insights from Dr. Marla Sheppard’s first 100 days and developed in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, our leadership team, and community partners.
“Every student in Longview ISD deserves a future full of possibility, and our job is to make that future real.”
– Dr. Marla Sheppard, Superintendent
At its heart, this plan is about excellence, equity, and opportunity for every student. And we believe the only way to get it right is to include you.
Your voice is shaping the future of Longview ISD. Join us in building it.
📣 What’s Happening Now
We are currently gathering feedback on the plan’s core goals and priorities through a series of community meetings and staff sessions. These are designed to pressure-test the draft goals and make sure they reflect what matters most to Longview.
“We’re asking the right questions, and now it’s time to listen. This is a moment for the whole community to speak into our shared future.”
– Dr. Marla Sheppard

🛠️ About Our Planning Process
This plan is being developed through a months-long process that includes:
- Extensive community and staff input
- Analysis of performance, equity, enrollment, and access data
- Board and Cabinet working sessions
- Feedback from students, families, and community leaders
“This isn’t just a plan for schools, it’s a plan for Longview. When we lift our students, we elevate our entire community.”
— Dr. Marla Sheppard
Our working draft includes clearly defined goals, measurable outcomes, and actionable strategies that will guide how Longview ISD operates, supports campuses, and communicates progress across all schools.
