Five Longview students showed their commitment to excellence on Monday, Aug. 12th, as they received their diplomas, graduating from Longview Early Graduation High School.
During the Longview ISD trustees regular meeting Monday, Aug. 12th, the graduates were recognized by Principal Kristi Means. Means praised the graduates for their achievement, quoting the poem “Invictus,” and inspiring her students to be the 'captains' of their souls.
'Our graduates tonight are the epitome of the words: tenacious and resilience,' she said. 'Life happens and some things are out of our control, but you grabbed hold and you didn’t let anything stand in your way of achieving it.'
February 2019 graduates
• Trevor Brookins plans to attend Kilgore College. He plans to major in graphic design.
• Jaylin Ellis plans to attend Kilgore College. He will study diesel mechanics.
• Haleigh Farles plans to become a veterinarian technician.
• Kelvin Henderson plans to attend Kilgore College where he will major in graphic design.
• Neslie Ann-Vazquez-Negro looks forward to attending Kilgore College and majoring in cosmetology.
The Longview Early Graduation High School (formerly known as LEAD Academy) serves progressive students who wish to graduate early. Providing dual-credit courses for students seeking higher education, it also features career and technology options, online/distance learning, and ACT/SAT preparation.
