East Texas Advanced Academies (ETAA) will be reassigning three Longview Independent School District teachers next week due to increased enrollment numbers at the East Texas Montessori Prep Academy (ETMPA).
Dr. Cynthia Wise, Chief Executive Officer of ETAA, said teachers will be moved from other ETAA campuses to the Montessori school starting on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd.
Wise said teachers will be notified by Thursday, Aug. 29th and letters will be sent out by the end of the week to parents of the students whose teachers are being reassigned. The changes will go into affect after the Labor Day holiday.
'Campus principals have already been notified of these changes,' said Dr. Wise, adding that reassignments typically occur at the beginning of each school year 'based on enrollment levels and teacher-to-student ratios for each campus.'
'We will be combining these students with other classrooms in their campus,' she said.
ETMPA currently has 53 students on a waiting list to enroll at the campus.
