It may not have had the usual 'pomp and circumstance' of the end-of-year graduation ceremony, but the diplomas presented to eighteen Longview Early Graduation High School students are just as special.
During the Longview ISD trustees meeting Monday, Feb. 12, graduates were recognized by Principal Kristi Means. Means praised the graduates for their achievement, challenging them to ignore the skeptics and 'never let anyone convince you that you cannot accomplish great things.'
February 2018 graduates:
• Haylee Cox is a Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She plans to attend Kilgore to major in Education.
• Javon Dawson is currently attending Kilgore College where he is studying welding.
• Aususena Estrada plans to attend Kilgore College and major in Nursing.
• Iris Garcia plans to enter the workforce.
• Jairo Garcia plans to enter the workforce.
• Sekah Hall-Johnson is a Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She will attend Kilgore College and major in Nursing.
• Erika Hernandez plans to attend Kilgore College and major in Nursing.
• Mary Jones plans to attend Kilgore College and major in Nursing.
• Paris Jones plans to attend Kilgore College and major in Nursing.
• Ti’Mekia Keaton is a Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She plans to attend Vista College to so she may study to become a Certified Nursing Assistant .
• Melanie Martinez is Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She plans to enlist in the U.S. Army.
• Sadee Poulsen plans to attend Kilgore College and major in Nursing.
• Dillon Sumner plans to attend TSTC in Marshall. He aspires to become an Instrumentation Technician.
• Autumn Smith is a Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler where she will major in Nursing.
• Jenna Spruiell plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler where she will major in Nursing.
• Solomua Tavita is a Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She plans to enlist into the U.S. Marine Corps.
• ShaKevlyn Washington plans to attend Kilgore College and major in Criminal Law.
• Julie Wise plans to attend Kilgore College where she will major in Cosmetology.
The Longview Early Graduation High School (formerly known as LEAD Academy) serves progressive students who wish to graduate early. Providing dual-credit courses for students seeking higher education, it also features career and technology options, online/distance learning, and ACT/SAT preparation.
