Superintendent Dr. James Wilcox has named Dr. Cynthia Wise as new Principal for Forest Park Middle School.
Dr. Wise, currently the principal at Ned E. Williams Elementary, will be taking over for Shay Thompson, who is retiring from the district.
'The accomplishments Dr. Wise has achieved at Ned E. Williams speak for themselves,' said Dr. Wilcox. 'We expect her to bring the same high standards and commitment to excellence to the students and staff at Forest Park.'
An alumna of St. Paul's College, Ohio State University, and Southeastern Oklahoma College, Dr. Wise has been with Longview ISD for ten years. She is looking forward to 'taking my leadership skills to the next level by serving the students, teachers and parents at Forest Park.'
'But I will miss Ned E. Williams dearly. They are like my family. I have built some long-lasting relationships with the staff and parents,' she said. 'I am grateful to Dr. Wilcox for this opportunity and I am extremely excited about building new relationships!'
During her tenure, Ned E. Williams has earned numerous distinctions from the Texas Education Agency, and was recently honored as a high-progress Title I campus by Region VII for closing academic performance gaps.
