Longview High School has released the graduation schedule and guidelines for the Class of 2023!

Graduating seniors must attend the graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, May 17th, and Thursday, May 18th, at 9:30 a.m. in the Coliseum. The graduation ceremony will take place on Friday, May 19th, at 7:30 p.m. in Lobo Stadium. Gates will open at 6 p.m.

After the ceremony, graduates must pick up their diplomas in the Turf Room. If they are not able to pick up their diplomas at the ceremony, they will be available in the Registrar’s office after May 22nd. Additionally, all LISD devices, including Chromebooks, must be returned, and all outstanding fines for textbooks, library books, equipment, and other charges must be cleared prior to graduation.

Distribution of National Honor Society collars, GLOBE Scholar medals, and cords for the top ten percent and blood donations will occur on Thursday after practice in the Coliseum. Seniors who require a final transcript with second-semester grades to be sent to a college must create a GreenLight Locker by registering at greenlightlocker.com/register before graduation.

The graduation dress code specifies that girls wear dresses and dress shoes (no heels), while boys must wear long pants, shoes, socks, and shirts with a collar. Thong sandals, tennis shoes, or shorts are not permitted. Girls cannot carry purses, cameras, or flowers.

Parking will be limited, so it is recommended to arrive early to park and be in the Coliseum no later than 6:30 p.m. Graduates should park in the student parking lots or have parents drop them off in the breezeway before they park. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis on both the stadium home and visitors’ sides. Individual seats or sections of seats cannot be reserved or roped-off.

In case of rain, Plan A will be implemented, and graduation will be held on Saturday morning, May 20th, at 11 a.m. in Lobo Stadium, with gates opening at 9 a.m. Graduates must meet in the Coliseum at 9 a.m. If it rains on both Friday night, May 19th, and Saturday morning, May 20th, Plan B will be implemented, and two graduation ceremonies will take place in the Coliseum on Saturday, May 20th. The ceremony for graduates with last names beginning with A through K and the top ten percent will commence at 10 a.m, while the ceremony for graduates with last names beginning with L through Z will begin at 2 p.m.
