This event is a celebration of the gaming industry and our talented students who have put their skills and creativity to the test. We are excited to showcase their projects and creations, and we hope that you will join us for an unforgettable experience.
Our festival will include a vendor hall, Hall of Gamers, cosplay contest, student showcase, mock gaming classes, and breakout sessions.
We are especially thrilled about our gaming tournament, which will feature the best players from each school district in East Texas battling it out for the championship.

Longview Lobo Game Fest 2023 is a one-day event that will take place on May 6th, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This festival will offer a range of activities for attendees, from browsing through the latest gaming gear and collectibles to learning about the latest trends and technologies in the gaming industry.
Whether you're a hardcore gamer, a casual player, or simply curious about the gaming industry, you'll find something to enjoy at Longview Lobo Game Fest 2023.
We also invite you to participate in our Guilty Gear Strive Tournament, where school districts and colleges can compete for the first-place prize of $1,000.

The Longview Lobo Game Fest 2023 schedule is packed with exciting activities for gamers of all levels. The festival will start at 10 am and conclude at 3:30 pm. During this time, you can explore the vendor hall and Hall of Gamers, attend mock gaming classes, participate in breakout sessions, and witness the student showcase.
The gaming tournament is one of the highlights of the event, and only the 1st place winner from each school district will qualify to battle it out during Longview Lobo Game Fest. The tournament will begin at 12:30 pm and will conclude by 3 pm. During halftime, you'll be entertained by Kris Payne, an artist under Chuck D Label. The awards ceremony will take place at 3 pm.
The mock gaming classes are designed to teach you about the latest trends, tools, and technologies in the gaming industry. The schedule includes classes on Gearbox/Teacher Recert, Houdini, Art in Gaming, and Studio work in Gaming.
The breakout sessions are where you can hear from industry experts, learn about career opportunities, and network with fellow gamers. The schedule includes topics such as "Where do I start in gaming?" by Gearbox, "Education in Gaming" by Texas A&M and PVAMU, "Careers in Gaming" by Gearbox, "Mavs Gaming" by Tray Thompson, "History of Gaming" by Gordon Walton, "Xbox Gaming and Gaming Camp" by Peter Zetterberg and Christopher Douglas, and "Women in Gaming" by Jodyi Farmer.

If you're planning to participate in the Guilty Gear Strive Tournament, here are the round-robin rules you need to follow.
The game for your round-robin is Guilty Gear Strive.
Each player will play against every other player in the tournament once, and each match will be a best-of-three rounds, with each round being a best-of-three games.
The winner of each match will receive 3 points, while the loser will receive 0 points.
In the event of a draw, each player will receive 1 point.
The player with the most points at the end of the round-robin will be declared the winner. Gear Strive Tournament for a chance to win the first-place prize of $1,000.
To qualify for the tournament, your school must host a round-robin tournament. Our tournament will begin at 12:30 p.m
What you need to run your own round-robin gaming tournament
1. A venue: You will need a location to host the tournament. This could be a physical location such as a gaming center or an event space, or it could be an online venue where participants can play remotely.
2. Equipment: You will need gaming consoles, monitors or TVs, and controllers for players to use during the tournament. Make sure that the equipment is in good condition and that there are no connectivity issues. Suggested two consoles at least. But add more according to the number signs at your school.
3. Game copies: You will need to have copies of Guilty Gear Strive for each console that is being used in the tournament. It is a good idea to have backup copies in case any of the games become damaged or unusable.
4. Tournament brackets: You will need a way to organize the tournament matches and determine the winners. This can be done using tournament bracket software, which can be found online. I would suggest would be https://challonge.com/ and https://www.start.gg/ ‘We would like to encourage livestreaming if capability is available. We have a shout caster readily available.
5. Rules and regulations: You will need to establish rules and regulations for the tournament. This includes the format of the tournament, the match rules, the scoring system, and any other guidelines that participants should follow.
6. Registration: You will need to create a registration process for participants to sign up for the tournament. This can be done online or in person, depending on the venue.
7. Staff and volunteers: You will need staff or volunteers to help run the tournament, including registration, monitoring matches, and resolving any issues that arise.
8. Prizes: It is a good idea to offer prizes to the winners of the tournament. This can include cash prizes, gaming accessories, or other rewards that are relevant to the game or gaming community.
