Six Longview student-athletes will be officially committing to play collegiate athletics during a signing ceremony 1 p.m. Wednesday in the LHS Turf Room.

'We're extremely proud of what these young people have accomplished during their time at Longview High School, and we're glad to celebrate their athletic careers as they continue on to the college level,' said Athletic Director John King.

National equestrian champion Mary Katherine Camp will be signing with Texas Christian University, while accomplished pro soccer prospect Austin Vincent will be signing with Southern Methodist University.

Four senior Lobos off the 8-3 playoff and district co-champion football team are going to compete at the next level.

All-state defensive back Traveion Webster will sign with University of Louisiana at Monroe, while all-state lineman Kendall Starling and teammates Cameron Quinney and Ahmad Farrier will continue their playing careers on the same squad, as all three will be signing with Kilgore College.

National Signing Day, usually held on the first Wednesday of February, is the first day that a high school senior can sign a binding National Letter of Intent for college athletics.
