Longview ISD custodial worker Laqunica Smith was named Employee of the Year on Jan. 27 by GCA Services.
The Dallas-based company handles janitorial services for the district.
GCA Services spokesman Jim Schubiger and regional manager Jeff Chamberlain presented Laquinca with a $100 gift card and a trophy at Longview Early Graduate High School, where she works as Lead Custodian.
'Miss Smith demonstrates all the attributes we look for when considered for Employee of the Year,' Schubiger said. 'Her campus consistently receives all A's on their Custodial Survey Report Card each month from the principal, and the Inspections performed on her campus are above reproach.'
Laquinca was presented a Recognition Award, five GCA embroidered 'Employee of the Year' shirts, and a $100 Gift Card.
