The Junior League of Longview, Inc in partnership with First Baptist Church of Longview and Buckner CFS East Texas are hosting a 'School Supply Train' 8 a.m. Aug. 3 at The ROC (212 E South Street).

The event will last until all backpacks are passed out, so make sure to pre-register immediately! Students will be provided with a grade-appropriate backpack filled with school supplies, one uniform shirt, as well as a free haircut and vision screening.

What to bring:
• ID for parent (driver’s license or government issued id)
• proof of school enrollment for each child (report card of schedule)
• proof of family income (current pay stub, benefit letter, medicaid card)

In its early days, the School Supply Train distributed the supplies in large paper bags donated from Brookshire’s Grocery Store.

Buckner Family Services joined alongside the Junior League to screen eligible participants in 1995 and in 2003 First Baptist Church of Longview came aboard as well by providing their facility, The ROC, to host the event.
