Longview ISD classes to resume Monday, Feb. 22nd

UPDATE: Longview ISD looks forward to resuming classes, both for on-campus and virtual students, on Monday, Feb. 22nd.

District maintenance staff have been checking every facility and are happy to share that all power has been restored and our facilities have fared relatively well in the winter storm. At this time there are no damages that will prevent classes from being held on Monday.

As the Lakeport community is currently under a boil water notice, Longview ISD will be providing bottled water for students on the Ned E. Williams campus.

This is an evolving situation and we will provide additional information if circumstances change.

Our thanks to district staff, as well as our local first-responders and electric officials for helping us through this difficult weather event. We are excited to welcome students and staff back to school!

Monday, Feb. 15th

Due to the current power and connectivity outages throughout the greater Gregg County area, all Longview ISD schools and facilities will remain closed through Thursday, Feb. 18th.

Longview ISD students will be asked to participate in the asynchronous learning model. Assignments will be available in the student’s Google classroom, or in campus packets that were sent home on Friday.

Our administration will continue communication with the Longview Police Department to determine if the roads are safe for our staff and families to travel on for Friday, Feb. 19th.

The district administration will continue to monitor the situation with local officials, and will contact our families with the latest information available.

For the most up-to-date information, please check our social media pages, district website, and local media partners KLTV, KETK, and CBS 19. You can also follow the National Weather Service here.

We urge our community to please be safe and follow recommendations from local officials during this weather event.
