Beginning Friday, Sept. 10th, construction crews will begin the process of installing artificial turf on the softball field located near the main parking lot of the Longview High School campus.
As a result of this project, LHS officials have announced a temporary re-routing of all traffic entering the campus from Airline Road, at the guard shack.
Signs will be posted and the detour route will direct drivers through the student parking lots, around the construction area, to access the front traffic circle of the school.
For any drivers who currently use this entrance as a drop-off/pick-up point for students, LHS staff is recommending an early arrival to allow for a more steady flow of traffic.
LHS staff is also urgin patience and caution from drivers during this project — as well as strict adherence to the 5 mile per hour speed limit — for the safety of all students and staff.
