The Longview ISD Foundation has cancelled the April 2nd Lamplighter Awards.
Executive Director Kay Ray said the Foundation hopes to reschedule the event before the school year ends, but it will monitor the situation and base its decision on sound medical advice and the advice of the LISD administration.
'I am in the process of notifying all our sponsors. I hope we can proceed before the end of the school year, but that hope looks bleak,' she said. 'If nothing else, we will regroup and figure out how to honor this year's recipients next fall.'
