Foundation announces raffle items for 2017 banquet

Four generous Longview-area sponsors and businesses have donated items for the raffle at the Longview ISD Foundation’s annual Lamplighter Awards Banquet.

Totaling thousands of dollars in retail value merchandise from Henry and Moore Jewelry, Ronnie Rice and NWS-National Wholesale Supply, Jeanie Folzenlogen, and Pizza King, LISD Foundation director Kay Ray said raffle contestants can check which item they would like to win.

'(At the banquet), the Foundation will hold four separate drawings,' she said.

If you would like to purchase raffle tickets, please contact Kay Ray at (903) 663-4732 or (903) 452-7015 or at gray@lisd.org or gray0752@netzero.net or contact any Longview ISD Foundation board member.

Tickets are one for $5 or three for $10, on sale at the Junior League Bargain Box on Fourth Street and Henry and Moore Jewelry on Loop 281 in the shopping strip by Hobby Lobby.

Items up for raffle include:

• 14-karat gold and sterling silver diamond Vahan bracelet donated by Henry and Moore Jewelry. Retails for $1,875.

• Green Egg 'Mini Max' including Mini Max plate setter, Green Egg lump coal, grill gripper, and instant fire starter box. Perfect for tailgating and camping, it was donated by Ronnie Rice/NWS-National Wholesale Supply. Retails for $722.

• One large pizza of your choice per month for a full calendar year. Donated by Pizza King, the offer retails for $180.

• Original mosaic statue of 'Little Girl Playing The Violin' donated by well-known local artist Jeanie Folzenlogen. Retail value: priceless.

The Lamplighter Awards are designed to honor educators and the students whose lives the educators have touched, in addition to raising funds for the organization.

Established in 1994, the Longview ISD Foundation is a nonprofit organization that sponsors the annual Great Rewards for Great Ideas Grant Program, the Campus Initiative Grant Program, and the Lamplighter Awards Banquet. The foundation provides grants to teachers and campuses to help pay for items that the school district cannot provide for in its annual budget.

'Support the Longview ISD Foundation by purchasing a raffle ticket,' said Ray. 'The Longview ISD Foundation sincerely thanks Henry and Moore Jewelry, Ronnie Rice and NWS-National Wholesale Supply, Jeanie Folzenlogen, and Pizza King for donating this year’s raffle items and for their support of Longview ISD educators and students.'
