It may not have had the usual 'pomp and circumstance' of the end of year graduation ceremony, but the diplomas presented to five Longview Early Graduation High School students are just as special.
During the Longview ISD trustees meeting Monday, April 10, graduates were recognized by Principal Kristi Means. Means encouraged graduates that, regardless of the next step in life may be, 'make sure it is a step that satisfies your purpose in
life.'
'Make sure you are going to work for the love of the trade not the love of the treasure,' she said. 'Any job that you do, should be done correctly. Successful people are not gifted; they just work hard, then succeed on purpose.'
- Jordan Adams plans to major in radiology therapy at Oklahoma City College.
- Javion Alexander plans to study communication at Kilgore College.
- Mileena Jaggar is a Globe scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She plans to major in Psychology at Kilgore College; then continue at a University to major in special education.
- Ja-mell Peyton plans to major in physical therapy at Tyler Junior College and become a walk-on for the Apache football team.
- Shayla Sessions will major in nursing at Kilgore College.
The Longview Early Graduation High School (formerly known as LEAD Academy) serves progressive students who wish to graduate early. Providing dual-credit courses for students seeking higher education, it also features career and technology options, online/distance learning, and ACT/SAT preparation.
