Board meeting rescheduled for Nov. 16th

The Longview Independent School District regular meeting of the Board of Trustees has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16th at the administration building.

Due to delays in local election results — caused by ongoing recounts in the U.S. Presidential Election — the final ballot totals will not be ready in time for tonight's regular meeting.

Trustees were scheduled to canvass the results of the Place 2 board election between incumbent Mrs. Ava Welge and challenger Mr. Brett Miller. Preliminary results released last week by Gregg County elections officials showed Mr. Miller earning 1,874 votes to Mrs. Welge’s 901 votes.

The updated board agenda will be released later this morning and will be posted at the LISD Education Support Center (1301 E. Young Street), as well as on the district website here.

Due to public health protocols currently in place, anyone wishing to attend the meeting in person must abide by COVID-19 guidelines, as only limited seating capacity is available. The meeting will be streamed online at LISD.org/BoardroomLive.
