Longview ISD trustee Ted Beard and City councilwoman Nona Snoddy held a Town Meeting on April 4th at Ware Elementary to discuss issues relating to the City of Longview and Longview ISD.

Snoddy discussed exciting opportunities ahead for Longview and ways District 2 can get involved.

'Communication is key,' Snoddy said. 'A great way for citizens to communicate with the city is CitySend App.'

Beard enlightened the crowd on the roles of a trustee and some of the programs held at Ware Elementary. He also covered the district's new safety measures and Hi-5 program. Beard also covered information on the Early Graduation High School and Longview High Dual-Credit Program.

'We have students that graduate one night with their Associate's Degree and then graduate with their LHS class the following night,' said Beard. 'THAT is truly amazing. We are saving our students money and time when it comes to their education, they are able to move into that next phase of their life sooner. I am proud of what we have been able to provide to these students and I highly encourage you to talk to your students about enrolling in dual credit courses.'
