Longview ISD is looking to fill approximately 50 positions at different campuses and departments.

Ms. Shalona McCray, Chief Human Resources Officer, said the district is looking to fill critical need areas like Math, Science, Spanish, and Bilingual Education, as well as Social Studies, Reading, and Language Arts.

"We are hiring for elementary and secondary staff, and professional positions across the district," she said, encouraging job seekers to fill out an application online and attach the appropriate materials to their application, including copies of their resume, transcripts, teaching certificates, and three letters of recommendation.

Longview ISD's commitment to innovation is evident in its programs and curriculum. The district has implemented a one-to-one technology initiative, providing all students with a device to enhance their learning experience. The district also offers a variety of advanced programs, including dual-credit courses, Advanced Placement courses, and career and technical education programs.

In addition to its innovative approach to education, LISD is also one of the highest-paying and highest-performing school districts in the region. The district's starting teacher salary is $52,000, significantly higher than the state average of $47,000. Teachers in LISD also have access to performance pay, which provides additional compensation for high-performing teachers.

Longview ISD's commitment to its employees extends beyond compensation, as the district offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities. The district also provides a supportive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teachers to share their ideas and expertise to improve student outcomes.

The district's focus on innovation and high-performance has yielded impressive results. LISD has consistently earned high ratings from the Texas Education Agency, earning 53 total distinctions on accountability ratings from the Texas Education Agency. An increase from the 51 distinctions earned a year ago, and yet again one of the highest number of distinctions for any school system in East Texas.

As one of the largest employers in the city, LISD plays a critical role in the community, not just as an employer, but as an educator and partner. With its innovative approach to education, high-performance, and commitment to its employees and community, LISD is a model for school districts across the country.
