Fundraisers set to help support students, teachers
The school year is rolling along, and with it a number of fundraisers at Longview ISD.
Monday, Oct. 3 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rotolo’s Pizzeria has partnered with the LISD Athletic Department for a fundraiser. Rotolo’s owners, Justin and Heidi Carr will donate 10 percent of all sales.
LISD Athletic Director John King said all funds generated will "benefit students participating in all our athletic programs at the middle school and high school levels."
"Players and coaches from all our athletic teams will be in attendance," he said. "We hope you will join us for food and fellowship as you support our entire athletic program."
Anyone not able to make it Monday is invited to go by Rotolo's Pizzeria on Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. to help Longview High School's TSA engineering team raise money for their upcoming state and national competitions.
Justin and Heidi Carr's are upping the ante on Tuesday night, donating 15 percent of the evening’s receipts from dining to the Technology Student Association's engineering students. But you have to mention "TSA" when making you purchase.
Longview's TSA engineering design team of Daniel Bally, Rutvi Patel, Christopher Guck, and Neal Rangu. finished 8th in the nation this past summer.
Longview ISD Foundation Fundraiser
Another fundraiser coming up is the Longview ISD Foundation fundraiser from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at McAlister's Deli.
The restaurant will donate 10 percent of the evening's receipts from take out or inside dining to the Foundation in support of the "Great Rewards for Great Ideas Grant" and the "Campus Initiative Grants" programs.
Since 1996, the Foundation has returned $692,000 to district classrooms and campuses so that educators have the materials and programs they need to provide quality education to all students.
