Foster Middle School's Math & Science team finished the 2016-17 season ranked in the top ten of Texas at the TMSCA meet April 22 in San Antonio.

"We placed 6th place as a team in a very tough 6A competition," said Deborah Lindeken, 8th Grade Gifted & Talented teacher. "Several students also won team or individual awards. With 80 schools represented and over 200 students in each event, this is a great accomplishment! The students have worked incredibly hard this school year to achieve these results."

Principal John York praised the hard work of the students, their parents, as well as teachers Lindeken, Christi Shobert, Diana Howard, and Jennifer Sullivan in making this success possible.

"You just can't say enough about the job these young people have done," he added. "Foster Middle School is proud of them, and we appreciate the time and energy of our wonderful parents and staff."

Individual results are as follows:

Number Sense
5th place team: Aditya Jagarlamudi, Rachna Edalur, Gowri Rangu, and Iniabasi Ekpenyong (all 7th graders)
4th place: Aditya Jagarlamudi
6th place: Rachna Edalur
24th place: Gowri Rangu
25th place: Iniabasi Ekpenyong

On behalf of the other teachers, Lindeken said they are "very proud of this incredible team!"
