After a brisk start on April 25, early voting was steady for Longview ISD residents, with 73 ballots cast in seven days at the administration offices, and 75 more received by mail.

Shandreka "Shan" Bauer is challenging six-term incumbent John Preston for Place 5 on the LISD Board of Trustees. Place 6 incumbent Ted Beard was unopposed and will serve another three-year term on the board. 

Election Day is Saturday, May 7. 

"Our board is a direct line to the various residents of our excellent school district," said LISD Superintendent Dr. James Wilcox. "We appreciate those (in Place 5) who cast early ballots and encourage all registered voters to express their voice on Election Day."
