Lobo artists receive awards, accolades at annual museum show

Longview High School art students took 15 prizes in three medium categories – including first-through-third place sweeps – at the 55th Annual Longview Museum of Fine Arts Student Invitational.

The annual exhibition featured about 200 artists from more than 14 area school districts, according to Renee Hawkins, the museum’s director. 

 

Pottery
1st Place – Filiberto Rivera
2nd Place – Shai Ann Davenport
3rd Place – Paola Orona
Honorable Mention – Garrett Flowers; Keyarro Hollins; and Delandrea Webster

 

Sculpture
1st Place – Sebastian Guillen
2nd Place – Raven Ferguson
3rd Place – Heidy Soto
Honorable Mention – Marco Gonzales; Abbi Pauley; Bailey Sonier; Audrey Payton; and Celeste Nunez

Mixed Media Painting
Honorable Mention – Niera Sanchez

 

The young artists are students of Ellen Herbert and Jeff Hull. Their pieces will be on display at the museum through March 28. Longview Museum of Fine Arts is at 215 E.
