LISD to recruit bilingual teachers in Puerto Rico
"Teachers seeking to work at Longview ISD will have to complete the out-of-state process due to Texas certification regulations," she said. "Through this process they will need to complete a review of credentials with the Texas Education Agency."
LISD staffers will be doing interviews 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 29 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 30 at the Embassy Suites in San Juan. Just a couple days after the district's job expo in Longview on April 26.
Martin said the district is seeking certified and highly-qualified teachers in all subjects, including critical need areas like Bilingual Education, Math, Science, and Career/Technical Education. Interested job seekers are encouraged to fill out an application online at www.lisd.org and bring the appropriate materials to the April 29-30 event.
"We ask that they have copies of their resume, transcripts, teaching certificates, and three letters of recommendation," she said. "We also encourage candidates to share this event with friends and family members who are teachers or with anyone who is interested in becoming a teacher
