'Giving Day' to benefit LISD Foundation

From midnight to 11:59 p.m. May 3, anyone can donate $20 or more to the Longview ISD Foundation by going online to the East Texas Communities Foundation at etcf.org and clicking on "Longview ISD Foundation."

East Texas Giving Day is a 24-hour day of giving that provides critical funding for area nonprofits. East Texas Communities Foundation is partnering with area nonprofits like the Longview ISD Foundation to give thousands of donors from every community in East Texas a chance to raise funds for local needs.

You can easily donate to the Longview ISD Foundation, Inc. from your phone or computer or at one of the many locations around Longview where volunteers from area non-profits will be throughout the day.

The Longview ISD Foundation will be at Chick-fil-A on East Loop 281 by Wal-Mart from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 3. The giving day will end at Heritage Plaza in downtown Longview from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with food trucks on hand and "Silver Linings," a local band, providing live entertainment. The Longview ISD Foundation will be at Heritage Plaza to accept credit card donations also.

In the twenty-one year history of the Longview ISD Foundation, it has returned $692,206 to LISD classrooms and campuses to maximize the quality of education available to all LISD students. Every day Longview ISD students on all campuses use materials and participate in learning programs funded by the Foundation.
