Nine early graduates receive diplomas

It may not have had the usual "pomp and circumstance" of the end-of-year graduation ceremony, but the diplomas presented to nine Longview Early Graduation High School students are just as special.

It may not have had the usual "pomp and circumstance" of the end-of-year graduation ceremony, but the diplomas presented to nine Longview Early Graduation High School students are just as special.

During the Longview ISD trustees meeting Monday, Feb. 11th, graduates were recognized by Principal Kristi Means. Means praised the graduates for their achievement, challenging them to ignore the skeptics and "never let anyone convince you that you cannot accomplish great things."

February 2019 graduates:

 • Taylor Cline is a Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She will attend Kilgore College where she will study to become a dental hygienist. 

 • Taylor Green plans to study Nursing at Kilgore College.

 • Aria Johnson plans to attend Tyler Junior College where she will study to become a dental hygienist.

 • Robert Knapp will be graduating as a Globe Scholar on the recommended plan. He received an academic scholarship to the University of North Texas. He plans to become a history teacher.

 • Hollee Lehr plans to attend Tyler Junior college where she will study to become a veterinary technician.

 • Yoselin Meraz Sianez is a Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She plans to study nursing at Kilgore College.

 • Sonia Lizbeth Ramirez plans to study Early Childhood Development at Tyler Junior College.

 • Tyona Stephonson is a Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She has received her tech and training license as a Pharmacy Technician. She plans to attend Austin Community College where she will study biology.

 • Emily Sumners is a Globe Scholar graduating on the recommended plan. She plans to study criminal justice.

The Longview Early Graduation High School (formerly known as LEAD Academy) serves progressive students who wish to graduate early. Providing dual-credit courses for students seeking higher education, it also features career and technology options, online/distance learning, and ACT/SAT preparation.
