In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students, the Longview Independent School District will consider students in grades K-8 (who are not yet identified as gifted and talented) for nomination and screening for gifted and talented program services.
Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment. Nomination and consent for assessment forms are available at all elementary and middle schools in the counselors’ offices.
The forms for students in grades 3-8 must be returned to the counselor by Friday, Oct. 7. Assessment will begin on Monday, Oct. 17, for 3-8 students.
Nominations for students in grades K-2 students must be returned to the counselor by Friday, Oct. 28. Assessment for K-2 will begin on Monday, Nov. 28.
