Longview ISD Weather Alert Communication
The following guidelines are used to communicate a change in the starting time for school and cancellations due to inclement weather or other issues:

If Longview ISD must cancel or delay classes, parents will be notified by phone alert, radio, television stations, through the Longview ISD district website and via Twitter.
We urge parents to make sure contact information is up to date with the school so our phone notification system can be used more effectively.

If school is cancelled due to bad weather, we are mandated by the state to build in two “bad weather days” to our calendar. These two days would be used as make-up days: June 9 and June 10, 2014.
