Hudson  PEP (Planned Enrichment Program) is a district-wide elementary school in Longview Independent School District for students who perform in the average to above average range in grades 1-5.  Students participate in music, art, physical education, and computer with certified teachers in all grades.  A hands-on science program has been integrated into the curriculum.  In grade 5, students may participate in band, orchestra or choir. A strings program is offered for students in grades 3-5 depending on available placements.

Our goal is develop the whole child – academically, socially, physically, creatively and morally through an enriched academic curriculum and high expectations.  Students remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create to learn and reinforce skills.

An application begins the process for admittance.  Students are given ability and achievement tests to see if they qualify.  Students entering first grade are testing during March and April.  Grades 2 through 5, if places are available, are tested during the first week of June.

Out of district students may apply.  About one third of the students are identified as Gifted and Talented and participate in a supplemental program.

Our school hours are from 7:30 – 3:00 pm.

Steve Knollenberg, a representative from the Rotary Club of Longview, Tuesday group, presents principal Sue Wilson a donation of 120 dictionaries for Hudson PEP third graders.
